Blood Revenge

Come Saturday night June 21st, one of the most anticipated rematches of the year will take place between two world class fighters Edison 'Pantera' Miranda and 'King' Arthur Abraham. They will be fighting to settle the score once and for all in a 166 pound special attraction that is guaranteed to produce early 4th of July fireworks. Abraham vs Miranda II headlines a night of professional championship boxing presented by Seminole Warriors Boxing Promotions. Showtime World Championship Boxing will televise the event beginning at 9pm ET / PT.

Abraham defended his IBF world middleweight title against Miranda in Germany on September 23, 2006. Their first meeting was one for the ages. The two pugilist clashed in what was considered one of the most exciting and dramatic fights in years. Boxing fans have been patiently waiting for this rematch and are pleased to finally now see it come to fruition. The two fighters lived up to the standards set by previous middleweight greats as they battled heart and soul for 12 brutal rounds. Abraham showed the true heart of a champion as he fought on despite having his jaw broken in the fourth round by Miranda's bomb dropping haymakers. Miranda showed that he belonged on the championship level by fighting tooth and nail in a valiant attempt to take Abraham's crown. Unfortunately the referee who officiated the fight placed a huge amount of controversy over what was one of the best fights of the year, with Abraham retaining his title via a unanimous decision.

Since then, the two fighters have not been strangers to the war of words. In a recent interview Miranda called out Abraham for not being a true champion. “Ever since I busted your jaw, you have fought nobody. But here you are bragging to the media about what solid opponents you've faced. Who are these guys? It is a joke that you never step it up like a true champion and fight a strong opponent.” Arthur Abraham commented that if he himself had failed to beat a man that had his jaw broken, he would have retired and taken a job as a night watchman. Abraham also stated that Miranda was without a doubt the dirtiest fighter he had ever faced. Abraham had been the recipient of repeated head butts delivered by Miranda during their 2006 meeting. “I am looking forward to the rematch with Miranda” said Abraham, who clinched a unanimous decision in 2006 over Miranda despite having his jaw broken twice and losing over a liter of blood.
